Der blinde Passagier
2026
Oldenburg-Germany
By Maria Lazar / The young Nina Petersen is at sea with her father and brother. The family owns a small trading vessel that operates along nearby coastal routes. What happens on land reaches them only through the radio. These are difficult times, both economically and politically. A conflict arises between Nina’s brother Carl and her fiancé Jørgen over the political situation in the country with which they conduct trade. What begins as a political disagreement gradually becomes a moral dilemma—and ultimately a question of survival—when the crew discovers that a stowaway is hiding on board, a refugee forced to flee his homeland. As the truth comes to light, each member of the crew must decide where they stand, and how much they are willing to risk for another human being.
